Research Interests
My research focus on structural studies on apoptosis related proteins and protein kinases using X-ray crystallography. Apoptosis inhibitor proteins basically inhibit cell death by inhibiting the caspases. We recently determined structure of non-canonical IAP protein and found new mechanisms in apoptosis. Protein kinases are functions on lots of cell signaling and lots of protein kinases are therapeutic targets for cancers. So, for the innovative drug discovery, we are currently conducting structural studies on protein kinase structures and exploring new drug candidates through in silico or HTS chemical library screening.
