NCC-Signs MOU with IARC
On May 18th, 2018, the National Cancer Center concluded an MOU with The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization (WHO) to participate in the GICRNet(Global Initiative for Cancer Registry) to increase support for cancer registration in Asia.
(The Global Intiative for Cancer Registry Development (GICP: http://gicr.iarc.fr), which is led by IARC, is an international patnership that combines technical support, training, and adbocacy to ensure that cancer registry systems are developed across the world to inform national cancer control)
Within the framework of the GICR, The NCC has been officially designated as an IARC/GICR Collaborating Centre. the NCC expands the available supprot for cancer registration in the region offered by partner institutions.
The NCC will provide tailored training, develop educational resources, and build capacity through the NCC Gradeuate School of Cancer Science and Policy.
Through this agreement, the NCC-GCSP is expected to play a role in: ▲Development of master level certification programs in the field of cancer registration, ▲Development of IARC-GICR-NCC summer school, ▲Support qualified applicatns from LMICs. and more.
